Sailani Nagar Shrine: A Symbol of Religious Unity

In Sailani Nagar, Padegaon, about 7 km from the city, there’s a special shrine. It was built by Sadguru Shankar Baba Pothikarji, a follower of Sailani Baba. Shankar Baba made a copy of Sailani Baba’s famous dargah from Buldhana, Maharashtra. This new shrine became important for the area. After Shankar Baba and his wife died, their samadhis (tombs) were also built here.

A Place Where Religions Come Together

For 30 years, this shrine has been doing something unusual. During Ganesh Utsav, a Hindu festival, Muslims can still pray here without any problems. Both Hindus and Muslims join in the Ganesh celebrations. The shrine also has a Hanuman and Mahadev temple. Every Thursday, people pray to Sailani Baba, Ganpati, Datta, and Mahadev together. This shows how different religions can respect each other.

Celebrating Unity in Diversity

The shrine celebrates festivals of all religions. Besides Ganesh Utsav, they also celebrate Kalika Mata and Tulja Bhavani Mata festivals. Sailani Baba’s Urs (death anniversary) is also celebrated here. People from all religions come to the shrine and feel at peace. They pray together and enjoy all festivals as one community.

Pallavi Pothikar, Shankar Baba’s daughter-in-law, says this place respects all religions. Anwar Pathan, a visitor, feels spiritually satisfied after visiting the dargah. He likes how people celebrate all festivals together here.

This shrine is more than just a religious place. It shows how people from different religions can live and celebrate together. It sends a message of unity and tolerance to society. The shrine has become a symbol of harmony where different faiths come together in peace.
