Vegetable & Fruits originated from india are good for health

Give these local produce items a place in your kitchen instead of imported ones!

Health: ‘Foreign fruits’ are a hot topic when it comes to superfoods. Almost all fitness freaks or those who follow this road promote fruits and vegetables from the outside. But perhaps they need to be made aware that there are plenty of inexpensive, readily available fruits and vegetables from India that are just as nutritious as exotic fruits and vegetables. Superfoods are well-liked by dieters and athletes because they provide nearly all the nutrients with your body needs, even in small quantities. These foods are rich in vitamins, antioxidants, proteins, fibre, and minerals.

You can try these Indian alternatives to your fitness

Use gooseberry instead of acai

You may be aware of acai and blueberries’ high vitamin C content, but did you realise that amla has 20 times as much vitamin C? Due to its capacity to strengthen immunity, amla, commonly known as Indian Gooseberries, has captured everyone’s interest during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, it has anti-ageing and weight-loss benefits. Your brain and eyes will both benefit from amla’s health benefits.

Even though amla is a seasonal fruit, there are several convenient ways to preserve it, including drying and pickling. You will be able to reap the rewards of amla all year long in this way.

Choose blackberries instead of goji berries

The popularity of goji berries is due to their blood sugar-regulating properties. But you should know that Indian Kala Jamun is also full of this quality. Black Jamun proves effective in strengthening immunity and reducing sore throat. Calcium, potassium, iron and vitamin C are also reasonably present.

You can also use amla instead of goji berries. Do you know that amla contains 252 mg of vitamin C per 100 grams, while goji berries only have 48 mg? That is about five times! Goji berries may lose some vitamin C content during packaging, as they are sold in processed form.

Substitute Indian Moringa for Matcha Tea

Japanese matcha tea has been famous for its excellent results. Still, it’s time to acknowledge that Indian moringa is nutritionally superior to its Japanese competitor, with ten times more fibre, 30 times more protein and 100 times more calcium. It is an excellent source of antioxidants, lowers the risk of heart disease, boosts immunity, helps improve mood and aids weight loss.

Spinach instead of kale

If you are trying to lose weight and depend on exotic superfoods like kale, Indian vegetables can easily beat it. Spinach and other nutritious greens are widely available in the markets. They contain more folate and vitamins A and K than kale. Both spinach and kale help with weight loss and heart health. Spinach is a
powerhouse of nutrients. For a healthy start, add it to meals or add smoothies.

Try coconut or mustard oil instead of olive oil

It is no wonder that people in the West have started using coconut oil extensively in their cooking- it contains healthy fats, promotes fat burning and increases the good cholesterol in the body. Similarly, mustard oil has anti-microbial properties as well as high smoke points. These Indian oils are far superior to vegetable or refined oils and are much less expensive than olive oil.

Chickpeas instead of quinoa

Quinoa, a member of the whole grain family, has recently gained much popularity. Kabuli Chana, however, offers nourishment concerning health. Like quinoa, chickpeas are naturally gluten-free and provide a distinctive blend of plant-based protein and dietary fibre.

Compared to chickpeas, which have 17 grammes of carbohydrates, 5 grammes of fibre, and 5 grammes of protein per half cup, cooked quinoa has roughly 20 grammes of carbohydrates, 2.5 grammes of fibre, and 4 grammes of protein. Both can be eaten hot, cold, or in flour form and are rich in nutrients and antioxidants.
