Mahbubul Hoque’s Vision for Affordable Education in North East India

A profound transformation is unfolding in education, led by Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque. Amidst the financial challenges faced by the middle and underprivileged classes in India, Mahbubul stands as a beacon, ensuring that no one is deprived of education due to poverty.

A Humble Visionary

Wearing a skullcap and adorned with a flowing beard, Mahbubul Hoque presents himself as a humble, cultured, and courteous figure. A brief encounter unveils the depths of his patience, humility, and kindness.

Two Decades of Trailblazing Achievements

Mahbubul’s accomplishments are nothing short of groundbreaking two decades into his journey. In a world often consumed by materialism, his resounding statement echoes, “There is no point in living a luxurious life and showing off. Life and wealth are from the Almighty for doing good deeds and to serve society, for which we are answerable on the Day of Judgement.”

The Arduous Path to Empowerment

Born in the remote village of Purbogool, Patharkandi, Assam, Mahbubul faced adversity early on. The demise of his father during the seventh standard and later, his mother during the 12th standard left him with challenges that seemed impossible. Yet, he persevered, selling home-grown vegetables and tutoring local schoolchildren to fund his education.

Family, Fortitude, and Academic Excellence

Qoumrul Hoque, Mahbubul’s elder brother, emerged as a stalwart supporter, aiding in financing his education. Mahbubul excelled academically, completing enrollment in Karimganj and achieving distinction in his Intermediate (Science) at G.C. College, Silchar.

Academic Soar at Aligarh Muslim University

From 1993 to 2000, Mahbubul immersed himself in studies at Aligarh Muslim University, earning a first-class distinction in BSc (Chemistry) and securing the second-highest rank in PGDCA & MCA (masters in Computer Sciences).

In the heart of North East India, Mahbubul Hoque’s story is not just one of personal triumph but a testament to the transformative power of education, illustrating that a dedicated individual can surmount adversity and uplift entire communities.
