Zufishan Haque’s Remarkable Journey to UPSC Success

Zufishan Haque, a native of Gangtok, Sikkim, has proven that determination and hard work can overcome any obstacle. After securing a rank of 193 in her previous UPSC attempt and joining the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Zufishan set her sights on the coveted Indian Administrative Service (IAS). In her fourth attempt, she achieved the remarkable feat of securing the 34th rank in the UPSC Combined Civil Services Examination for the year 2023.

Navigating the Path to Success

Zufishan’s journey to success was not without its challenges. She completed her B.Tech and M.Tech degrees, even earning a gold medal, before turning her attention to the UPSC examinations. Despite facing setbacks in her earlier attempts, Zufishan remained undeterred, drawing strength from the support of her family, friends, and the Haj Bhawan coaching center, which provided her with accommodation and excellent guidance during her UPSC preparation.

Advice for Aspiring Civil Servants

Zufishan’s success story is a testament to the power of perseverance and strategic planning. She emphasizes the importance of thoroughly understanding the UPSC syllabus and previous year’s question papers, rather than relying on multiple sources. Zufishan advises aspirants to focus on revising the material thoroughly, as opposed to simply covering a vast amount of content. She also stresses the crucial role of family support and encouragement in achieving one’s goals.

Zufishan’s journey from a trainee IRS officer to a soon-to-be IAS officer is a remarkable achievement that inspires others to pursue their dreams with unwavering determination. Her story serves as a shining example of the transformative power of hard work, resilience, and a well-planned approach to the UPSC examinations. As Zufishan embarks on her new role, she is poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of the people she serves.
