Aliya Mir: Prominent Sociologist and Wildlife Rescuer

Aliya Mir, a prominent sociologist and Kashmir’s first female wildlife rescuer, has been honored with the wildlife conservation award by Jammu and Kashmir. She was awarded for her outstanding contributions to various aspects of wildlife conservation, including bear rescue, rescue and release, and injured animal care.

As Head of the Education System in the Wildlife SOS Program, Aliya has been working tirelessly to protect and preserve wildlife in the region. She is also the first woman in the Union Territory to receive such an honor.

Aliya Mir expressed her happiness and gratitude for the recognition at the World Forestry Day celebrations.
