Chandaini village, located 70 kilometers away from New Delhi in the Mewat district of Haryana, defies the typical stereotypes associated with this Muslim-dominant area. It is a place where the locals have broken free from societal shackles and embraced progress and gender equality.
Contrary to common perception, the village does not harbor any organized ‘tatlu gangs’ nor does it allow cow slaughter, which are often linked to Mewat. Chandaini presents a different image of Mewat, where the focus is on the education and empowerment of women.
