Nisar Foundation: Transforming Lives in Pune

The Nisar Foundation empowers women through a Vocational Training Center, offering affordable courses in various skills for improved job opportunities.

Hafiz Shaikh, the founder of the Nisar Foundation in Kondhwa, Pune, is committed to improving the lives of those in need. Many poor patients face challenges in accessing government healthcare schemes due to a lack of necessary documents. This often discourages them from seeking help at civil hospitals or dispensaries. The Nisar Foundation steps in to support these vulnerable individuals by providing essential medical supplies such as beds, water mattresses, walkers, and wheelchairs at no cost. This assistance has enabled many destitute patients to receive the medical care they desperately require.

Affordable Healthcare Services

To tackle the high costs of medicines, Hafiz has established two dispensaries named Nisar in Bhagyodaya Nagar and Nawazish Chowk. At these facilities, patients can obtain medicines for just Rs 30, which is significantly lower than market prices. Each patient also receives a medical check-up and two days’ worth of medication. These dispensaries serve hundreds of patients daily, making healthcare accessible to those who might otherwise go without. A team of four qualified doctors works at both clinics, and they are paid competitive salaries, ensuring that patients receive professional care. In addition, there are eight other employees who help manage the operations of these facilities.

Empowering Women and Supporting Education

The Nisar Foundation is not only focused on healthcare but also on empowering women and children in the community. To help women gain skills for better job opportunities, Hafiz has set up a Vocational Training Center. This center offers courses that women can take after completing their 10th grade. The courses last from six months to one year, and upon completion, women receive certificates. The fees for these courses range from Rs 500 to 700, with some training offered for free. Courses available include Nursing, Paramedical Studies, Spoken English, Tailoring, Mehndi, Beauty Parlor skills, Makeup Training, and Fashion Designing.
