UP Board Exam 2023: Revised Exam Pattern For Class 10, Check Now

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has recently announced a change in the UP Board 10th exam pattern for 2023. According to the revised exam pattern, students will now have to answer 70 marks worth of questions, out of which 50 marks will be for descriptive-type questions and 20 marks for objective-type questions. They need to understand the latest pattern and plan their preparation accordingly.

Strategies for preparing for the new exam pattern

The UP Board conducts the 10th exams every year in March and allows students to appear in the exams in either Hindi or English. The exam pattern of this board comprises 70 marks that account for the theory, and the remaining 30 marks include internal tests and practicals. A clear understanding of the syllabus and exam pattern is the perfect beginning to prepare for the exam.

The UP Board Class, 10th exam pattern subject-wise, is as follows:

  • Science: Theory – 70 marks, Practical – 30 marks (concise, short, and long answer type questions)
  • Social Sciences: Theory Paper – 80 marks, Internal Assessment – 20 marks (concise, short and long answer type questions)
  • English: Theory – 80 marks, Internal Assessment – 20 effects (section-A reading, section-B writing skills with grammar, section-C literature textbook and supplementary reading text)
  • Mathematics: Theory – 80 marks, Internal Assessment – 20 marks (concise, short, and long answer type questions)
  • Hindi: Theory – 80 marks, Internal Assessment – 20 marks (part-I, part II, part III, part IV)

Importance of understanding the new exam pattern

Students must go through the entire UP Board Class 10 syllabus and divide the chapters according to the exam pattern. It will help them to understand the types of questions that are chances to come in the exams and allow them to prepare accordingly.

The UP Board 10th grading pattern is also essential for students to understand. The exams have 70 marks allotted for theory and the rest 30 spots for internal tests and practicals. If students cannot clear one subject except for Hindi, they will still earn the exams. If students fail to clear two issues, they can appear in the compartment exams. The State Board also has a provision that if a student cannot clear three subjects, he/she can appear only in those three subjects the next academic year.
