Simran Skaikh’s journey from Dharavi streets to WPL

Simran Banu Shaikh, a 21-year-old from Dharavi, one of the largest slums in the world, has been selected for the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Despite the challenges of living in a densely populated area with poor infrastructure and sanitation, Simran’s determination and passion for cricket led her to join the Crossway-based United Club, where she learned the game under the guidance of coach ‘Romdeo Sir’.

Simran Banu Shaikh also credits Sanjay Satam for providing her with a cricket kit and support. Simran’s success inspires the youth to follow their dreams, especially in areas with limited resources and opportunities
