Anjali Pavan and Her Mother: Cultivating Sustainability through Kokedama and Eco-Friendly Gardening

Anjali Pavan, a resident of Kerala, embarked on a journey of sustainable gardening after encountering a Kokedama, a Japanese gardening technique involving moss-wrapped plant roots in hanging gardens, during a visit to her mother’s friend’s home.

Enthralled by the concept, Anjali’s curiosity led her to dive into the world of Kokedama. With research from online resources and YouTube tutorials, she crafted her first Kokedama at home. Little did she know that this initial foray would propel her toward a profound passion for sustainable gardening.

What started as an experiment evolved into a full-fledged commitment to eco-friendly gardening, blossoming with each new plant Anjali nurtured. Her path to sustainable gardening wasn’t solitary; her mother, a pivotal partner, actively supported her eco-conscious gardening journey.

Anjali Pavan’s mother’s resourcefulness and creativity transformed old materials into planters, fostering their eco-friendly garden’s flourishing growth. They joined forces to discover inventive, sustainable methods for greening their garden while minimizing their impact on the environment. They ingeniously repurposed waste materials, including bottles, drums, old paint cans, coconut shells, husks, plastic bottles, and even old sewing machines, transforming them into eco-friendly pots and planters.

Moreover, Anjali’s mother displayed her artistic prowess in crafting plant hangers through the beautiful art of macramé. Her creativity extended to making pots from old clothes found within their home, further reinforcing their commitment to sustainability.

By repurposing waste materials for their gardening needs, the mother-daughter duo contributed to environmental conservation and managed to save money that might have been spent on purchasing traditional planters from the market. This resourceful approach is a testament to their dedication to the planet and a sustainable lifestyle.

To share their journey and inspire others, Anjali Pavan and her mother have taken to Instagram, where they have garnered a substantial following of 76,686 individuals. Their sustainable gardening and eco-friendly innovations inspire, showing how passion and creativity can create a greener, more sustainable world.
