Crafting a Sustainable Dream in 2013
“Sagg,” a Kashmiri word meaning ‘providing water,’ embodies the essence of the Sagg Eco Village. In 2013, Fayaaz Ahmad Dar founded its not merely a farm or cultural haven but an immersive journey into Himalayan living. It’s a heartfelt exploration beneath Kashmir’s foothills.

Fayaaz reminisces, “Initially, there was nothing here—no roads, no water, no electricity. Just a piece of land strewn with rocks and thorns. We began by slowly clearing the stones and removing thorns. It took us a couple of years to shape this land into its basic form.”
According to Fayaaz, every individual comes into this world with a purpose. Life’s journey is a testament to discovering that purpose and creating Sagg Eco Village was his way of manifesting his vision.
A Symphony of Natural Farming
Spanning two acres of land, it is a testament to natural farming principles. Nurturing an organic haven, we cultivate every fruit and vegetable, embodying the essence of farm-to-table living.

Amid lush greenery, our thoughtfully placed seating, adorned with cultural treasures, creates a serene, healthful ambiance, embracing tranquility. The restaurant is meticulously designed to offer a luxurious experience while keeping one foot in nature. For a brief city escape or family joy, Sagg Eco Village ensures all needs met, offering a unique nature-infused retreat.
From Programs to Future Goals: A Holistic Approach
Sagg Eco Village caters to onsite visitors and extends its reach through online coaching programs. Personal and online coaching programs for students and entrepreneurs, livelihood and leadership capacity-building programs, and consultancy services for transformative changes and development are offered onsite and online. The village also hosts camps, bringing together individuals to connect with nature and engage in transformative experiences.

People participate in the day and night programs, finding relief from their troubles and worries as they immerse themselves in the surrounding environment. Fayaaz notes, “When people come here and witness the surroundings, all their pain and worries seem to disappear. They find peace and rejuvenate themselves. We grow most of our vegetables right here on this land, ensuring freshness and health in our offerings.”
Envisioning a Unified Future
Sagg Eco Village envisions an inclusive future where empowered mindsets, education, and environmental entrepreneurship take center stage. The goal is to train 1,000,000 environmentally conscious entrepreneurs by 2030. The beckons everyone to take a break and relish the luxury of staying close to nature.
