India’s Chess Glory at the FIDE Chess Olympiad

The Indian men’s chess team, comprising Gukesh D, Praggnanandhaa R, Arjun Erigaisi, Vidit Gujrathi, Pentala Harikrishna, and Srinath Narayanan (Captain), secured the gold medal at the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad held in Budapest, Hungary. The team’s impressive performance was highlighted by Gukesh D’s victory over Vladimir Fedoseev and Arjun Erigaisi’s triumph against Jan Subelj, allowing India to secure at least a tie in their match against Slovenia and ultimately clinch the gold.

Women’s Team Triumph

The Indian women’s chess team, comprising Harika Dronavalli, Vaishali Ramesh Babu, Divya Deshmukh, Vantika Agrawal, Tania Sachdev, and Abhijit Kunte (Captain), also emerged victorious, defeating Azerbaijan to claim the gold medal at the prestigious Olympiad.
