Javed Akhtar Speaks Candidly to Pakistan about Terrorism and Cultural Exchanges

Noted Bollywood personality, lyricist, and poet Javed Akhtar spoke candidly at the Faiz Literary Festival of Lahore, urging Pakistani audiences not to mind India’s complaints about terrorists coming from Pakistan. He also mentioned the lack of cultural exchange between India and Pakistan.

Javed Akhtar stated that not using Urdu as the mother tongue was causing people to become separated from their culture. Akhtar highlighted the importance of incorporating words from other languages into Urdu and criticized those who try to limit the language’s vocabulary.

Javed Akhtar is in Pakistan to participate in the Faiz Festival, where he discussed the importance and history of Urdu poetry.
