Asthma: A Growing Concern in India’s Respiratory Health Landscape

In recent years, the prevalence of chronic respiratory conditions has surged due to the alarming decline in air quality, exacerbated by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Among these conditions, asthma stands out as the most prevalent, affecting individuals of all ages.

Characterized by breathing difficulties, chest pain, coughing, and wheezing, asthma poses a significant health burden. According to the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study, India is home to over 30 million asthmatics, accounting for a staggering 13.09% of the global asthma burden.

The escalating number of asthma cases underscores the urgent need to address respiratory health challenges in India.
