Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Proposes Naming and Beautification of Eidgah Ground in Srinagar Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board, has proposed naming Srinagar’s Eidgah after Shah-e-Hamadan, the Iranian missionary who introduced Islam to Kashmir over 500 years ago.
She also plans to develop and beautify the sprawling ground, making it useful to the public beyond Eid prayers.
The proposal has been met with enthusiasm by citizens, including senior journalist Yusuf Jameel, who suggested that controlling water runoff should be a top priority to prevent further damage to the historic Aali Masjid.
