The Inspiring Journey of Tinat Atifa Masood

Tinat Atifa Masood, a dynamic personality, was born in Satribari and spent her early years in Shillong. Despite her father’s modest income, he had big dreams for her. He was determined that Tinat would study at Loreto Convent, a prestigious school. Against all odds, she did, excelling in academics and performing arts, particularly acting. Her schooling at Loreto from class 3 to 10, with guidance from exceptional teachers, played a key role in shaping her skills.

Career and Accomplishments

After completing her education, Tinat took on various jobs to support her family, starting as a receptionist at Guwahati Stock Exchange. She then worked with East-West Airlines and Hindustan Times, before launching her own production company, Siang Valley Production. Her documentary on the history of Assam tea, “Brew of the Eastern Clouds,” gained international recognition. In 2004, Tinat was chosen as a Rotary Club ambassador for Peace and Cultural Understanding, representing India in Canada. She also became involved in social work, organizing free eye camps and surgeries, and became the second president of one of Guwahati’s oldest clubs.

Overcoming Personal Struggles

Tinat’s personal life was not without challenges. After the birth of her son in 2006, she fell into depression due to weight gain and public ridicule. Reading Dale Carnegie’s *How to Stop Worrying and Start Living* helped her regain her confidence. In 2019, after the loss of her mother and caring for her ill father, she had a severe health scare, falling into a coma. Despite these hardships, she continues to inspire others with her resilience, faith in humanity, and commitment to making India great.
