Ganesh Visarjan Celebrations in Jaipur

The festive procession for Ganesh Visarjan began at the Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple, marking the end of the nine-day Ganesh Janmotsav. The idol, which had been beautifully decorated for the festival, was taken out for ceremonial immersion after being paraded around the city. The procession was a lively affair, featuring an elephant leading the way, followed by various colorful tableaux that showcased the spirit of the festival.

Celebrating Unity in Diversity

During the procession, Adarsh Nagar Assembly Councilor Akbar Pathan spoke about the cultural harmony in Jaipur. He stated, “Jaipur has always been a symbol of Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb,” emphasizing the importance of unity among different communities. He expressed pride in welcoming the procession and highlighted that Islam teaches respect for all religions. Many dignitaries from the Muslim community were present, including Adarsh Nagar Assembly MLA Rafiq Khan, showing the strong bond between different faiths during this celebration.

Highlights of the Procession

At 5 PM, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar performed the aarti of Lord Ganesha at the temple premises, adding to the significance of the day. This year’s procession featured an eye-catching tableau of the Vande Bharat train, creatively depicting gods and goddesses riding on it. The golden idol of Lord Ganesha was placed on a beautifully decorated chariot, which traveled through the bustling markets of Jaipur, including Sanganeri Gate, Johri Bazaar, Badi Chaupad, Tripolia Bazaar, Chhoti Chaupad, Gangauri Bazaar, and Brahmapuri.

The procession concluded at the Garh Ganesh temple, where the idol was immersed in a ceremonial manner. To ensure the smooth flow of the event, traffic was diverted on several roads throughout the city. Senior police officials, including Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph, were present to monitor the celebrations and maintain law and order, ensuring that everyone could enjoy the festivities safely.
