Adhik Kadam: Nurturing Hope & Education For Kashmir’s Orphaned Girls

In 2004, inspired by his concern for the children affected by conflict in Jammu and Kashmir, Adhik Kadam established the ‘Borderless World Foundation.’ This non-governmental organization has since become a haven for girls orphaned by terrorism and violence. Despite initial resistance, Adhik Kadam’s dedication to providing shelter, education, and support for these girls has transformed their lives.

Adhik Kadam’s journey began with a deep empathy for the young widows and orphans caught in the crossfire between India & Pakistan. His relentless efforts led to establishing of the Kupwara home, the first of four shelters. More than 200 orphaned girls are being raised with love and care. The foundation ensures their education and imparts vocational training, enabling them to become self-reliant entrepreneurs.

His work has empowered over 700 girls today, contributing to positive community development and a national value system. The foundation has expanded its reach to include medical camps, eye care for pellet injury victims, and even a rehabilitation school for differently-abled individuals.
