Broccoli Identified as a “Superfood” with Health Benefits

A recent study by researchers at Penn State has revealed that broccoli contains chemicals that bind to a receptor in mice and help preserve the lining of the small intestine, thus reducing the risk of sickness. The study proves that broccoli is a “superfood” with health benefits.

The research sheds light on how broccoli and other foods benefit health in mice and potentially in humans. The study was published in the journal Laboratory Investigation and provided insights into why broccoli is beneficial for preventing type 2 diabetes and cancer.
