Northeast India's Dr. Faizuddin Ahmed, assistant professor at USTM, has been recognized as one of the world's top 2 percent scientists for 2024 by Stanford University.

Northeast India is celebrating an important feather in the cap as Dr. Faizuddin Ahmed, Assistant Professor in Physics Department at the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) has been placed among top 2% scientists across the globe for 2024 by Stanford University, USA. Consistent Excellence

This is the fifth year in a row that Dr. Ahmed has made the list of the top scientists at Stanford University The fields of Theoretical Physics where he mostly works are general relativity and quantum mechanics. Through his career, Dr. Ahmed has contributed to the field by publishing 165 research papers in reputed Scopus-indexed journals. These journals include the European Physical Journal C (EPJC),Scientific Reports, Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics.

Gratitude and Inspiration

When receiving this award, Dr. Ahmed said: “It is incredibly humbling to be recognized by Stanford University for the fifth time consecutively. The determination and tireless research performed by men like Simpson is what ultimately leads to breakthroughs of this type. I am very grateful to USTM and my team.

Dr. Ahmed did his undergraduate (2006) and Master degree (2009) in Physics from Bholanath College, Dhubri and Gauhati University respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2016 at the same school. His global recognition not just underlines the commitment of his with regard to studies but also throws light on the type of scientific study pursued at USTM, exactly where he finds out. The success of Dr. Ahmed is an encouragement for the aspiring scientists and also reflects the commitment of USTM towards top-notch research and innovation.
