India’s daughter won 4 gold medals in Commonwealth Power Lifting Championship

Muskaan is a resident of Mazhaira, a small village in the Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh has proved this by winning four gold medals in New Zealand. Muskaan Sheikh brought laurels to Madhya Pradesh and Shivpuri district at the international level by winning the gold medal in Power Lifting Commonwealth organized in New Zealand. The first group of 22 members of the Indian team left for New Zealand on 25th November, including Muskaan Sheikh, daughter of village Mazhaira. Muskaan has achieved a new milestone by winning four golds in the Open Federation Weightlifting Championship in New Zealand. Muskaan will return to India on 2nd December. Muskaan’s father runs a poultry farm in the village Mazhaira of Shivpuri. His father is feeling proud of this achievement of Muskaan. Father Mohammad thanked the Sports Minister of the Madhya Pradesh Government, Yashodhara Raje Scindia and all the district officials and his colleagues. Mazhaira village comes in the forest area of ​​the district. 18-year-old Muskaan has four siblings. Muskaan has been preparing for power lifting since 2016. Earlier, Muskaan had tried her luck in handball, but after facing a problem with the preparations in the village, she got inclined towards weight lifting. Muskan took part in the stage handball competition for the first time in 2016. After this, she played nationally in the year 2017-18-19. Muskaan’s father said that soon after the corona was over, Muskaan started participating in the power weightlifting competition. She won the championship from the district to divisional level and state level competition in no time. After this, Muskaan was selected for Commonwealth Power Lifting in New Zealand. Muskaan has brought laurels to the country, including her state, by winning four gold medals in the power weightlifting competition. Muskaan lifted 105 kg in ascot lifting, 57.5 kg in the bench press and 120 kg in deadlifting, and after topping all three categories, she also got a gold medal for total weight count. State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and State Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia also congratulated Muskaan and expressed happiness over this achievement.
