Alifia Rahman‘s culinary journey is a testament to resilience, creativity, and the unwavering pursuit of her passion. Born in the culturally rich city of Kolkata, Alifia’s early experiments in the kitchen laid the foundation for a remarkable culinary career. Her story, enriched by her tagline, “Where Taste Meets the Myth,” encompasses not only the delectable Darjeeling Momos but also a range of healthy, calcium-rich, sugar-free chocolates, succulent grilled Greek and Russian salads, and other culinary delights. 

Early Beginnings: A Culinary Enthusiast

As a young child growing up in the vibrant metropolis of Kolkata, Alifia Rahman discovered her passion for cooking. During these early years, her brother, her biggest cheerleader, encouraged her to explore the world of culinary creations. Alifia’s vision expanded steadily, laying the groundwork for a remarkable culinary journey.

A Serene Beginning: Love and Marriage in Darjeeling

Life took a significant turn for Alifia when she met Jawed Rahman. Their love story culminated in a beautiful wedding ceremony in the serene hill station of Kurseong in Darjeeling. Nestled in the tranquillity of Kurseong, Alifia found herself in an environment that allowed her to savor the golden sun, breathe in the clean mountain air, and immerse herself in the beauty of the flowery landscape. 

Mastering Darjeeling Momos

During her time in Kurseong, Alifia’s culinary expertise flourished. In this idyllic setting, she mastered the art of making mouth-watering Darjeeling momos, a traditional delight with a unique twist. Her passion for culinary innovation was unwavering, and she soon became renowned for her exquisite creations.

Challenges Faced: The Gorkhaland Movement

In 2018, the Gorkhaland Movement disrupted the tranquillity of Kurseong and Alifia’s thriving culinary business. Alifia and her husband faced adversity and decided to relocate to Kolkata, her city of birth.
