As the grand Mahakumbh 2025 approaches, the Adani Group has teamed up with the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) to serve meals to millions of devotees visiting Prayagraj for the Kumbh Mela. This initiative, named ‘Mahaprasad Seva,’ will provide free meals to the pilgrims throughout the festival, which begins on January 13.
Launching the Initiative
To mark the launch of ‘Seva Hi Sadhana Hai’ Zarine Peerbocus of Adani Group met Guru Prasad Swami the Chairman of Governing Body Commission of ISKCON. Adani retweeted his affection towards the project and said “Kumbh is that Holy land of service where every hand automatically tends to participate in charity”. He said that during Maha Kumbh, they want to feed lakhs of saints and devotees with the grace of Maa Annapurna. Adani also came up with something he learned about service when he met Swami Ji. He said, for example: “Service is the highest form of patriotism.” And it is sadhana, prayer and God.
Impact and Preparations
Guru Prasad Swami lauded the Adani Group and said that it has adopted correct social consciousness. He said that Gautam Adani was a very humble man and eagerly participated in the service of others. The Mahaprasad Seva aims to feed 50 lakh devotees, with meals being prepared in two kitchens within and around the Mela area. Distribution will take place in 40 places with the help of 2500 volunteers.
As the Mahakumbh 2025 approaches, Prayagraj is bustling with excitement and spiritual energy. The event is scheduled from January 13thFebruary 26 the Sabitri fair is likely to attract nearly 40 to 45 crore devotees which will be a memorable event after 12 years. Several measures have been put in place to address security, these are seven-layer security measures with over 2700 AI cameras installed. Taking a holy dip at the Sangam at Allahabad, where the rivers the Ganga, the Yamuna and the invisible Saraswati unite is said to cleanse and free the soul (from sins) or maya’s hold.
