Disturbing Findings: Worsening Dropout Rates and Limited Access to Education among Indian Muslim Communities

In a groundbreaking report titled “Status of Muslim Dropout in Comparative Perspective,” conducted by the Institute of Objective Studies, shocking revelations have come to light regarding the educational challenges faced by the Muslim community in India.

Led by Professor Rubina Tabassum from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, with the assistance of Brijesh, this study highlights the increasingly low access to higher education among not only school-going girls but also boys within the Muslim community.

The report unveils a distressing trend of declining school enrollment rates among Muslims, coupled with a simultaneous surge in the dropout rate. As a consequence, the cumulative effect of these factors severely hampers the educational advancement and literacy levels of Muslims across the country.
