Hazra Bi’s family Donates Land Compensation to Hindu Temple, Sets Example of Harmony

About 50 years ago, Hazra Bi’s family bought 4.36 acres of land in Belaganj, Raisen district, Madhya Pradesh. This land had a small Hanuman temple and a dargah. Over time, the temple grew bigger as more people came to worship. Even though Muslims owned the land where the Hindu temple stood, there was never any problem between the communities.

Recently, the government took over the land for a development project. They paid Hazra Bi Mansuri and her family a lot of money as compensation. Instead of keeping the money, the family decided to donate it to the temple and the dargah.

Compensation Money Handed Over in Public Ceremony

Hazra Bi’s husband, Advocate Aziz Khan Mansuri, explained that they received 4 lakh rupees per acre as compensation. For the 300 square feet of land where the temple stood, they got 7.51 lakh rupees. They also received 18,000 rupees for the dargah land.

On September 18, Aziz Khan handed over the full amount to the temple committee. He did this in front of the local government official, SDM Saurabh Mishra. Aziz Khan made it clear that the money should be used to rebuild the Hanuman temple wherever it is relocated. He also gave 18,000 rupees to the Dargah Management Committee.

Family’s Actions Praised, Despite Some Criticism

Aziz Khan Mansuri, who is 48 years old, works as a lawyer and is also a well-off farmer. His wife Hazra Bi takes care of their home, and their two sons are students. When asked about how other Muslims reacted to his decision, Aziz Khan said that while many people praised him, some objected to it.

He responded to the criticism by saying, “I don’t care what people say. I have to answer to Allah. It’s not right for me to keep money meant for temples and dargahs. I’ve given the money to those it belongs to.”The local government official, SDM Saurabh Mishra, praised the family’s actions. He said it was not only admirable but also encouraged others to promote harmony in society.
