India-Pakistan Ceasefire Confirmed: Know The Developments From Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri On #OperationSindoor

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri Confirms Ceasefire Implementation During Press Briefing on #OperationSindoor

In a significant development, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed the successful implementation of a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, following discussions between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of both countries. The announcement came during a press briefing held today on the ongoing #OperationSindoor.

The ceasefire, which will take effect from 17:00 hours IST today, was agreed upon after a call between the DGMO of Pakistan and the DGMO of India at 15:35 hours earlier this afternoon. Both sides mutually decided to cease all firing and military operations across land, air, and sea.

The Foreign Secretary highlighted that clear instructions have been issued to the respective military authorities on both sides to ensure compliance with the agreement. He emphasized the importance of de-escalation and the need for maintaining peace along the border areas.

The agreement marks a positive step towards reducing tensions in the region, as it is understood that both nations have committed to taking necessary measures to uphold the ceasefire. To ensure continuous communication and monitoring of the situation, the DGMOs are scheduled to hold another round of talks on May 12 at 12:00 hours.

This move is seen as a crucial step toward maintaining peace and stability in the region, reflecting a commitment to diplomatic dialogue and peaceful resolution of any outstanding issues.

The ceasefire is expected to bring much-needed relief to the citizens residing in conflict zones and is hoped to pave the way for further discussions and confidence-building measures between the two countries.
