India’s Diplomatic Efforts To foster Peace & Stability: Insights From Ambassador Anil Trigunayat

Ambassador Anil Trigunayat, a Distinguished Fellow at the Vivekananda International Foundation, shares his perspectives on India’s pivotal role in mediating the ongoing peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. Trigunayat emphasizes that India has consistently advocated for a cessation of hostilities and a return to dialogue and diplomacy since the hostilities between Russia and Ukraine began. Stressing the importance of upholding the UN Charter principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty, India has also acknowledged Russia’s security concerns. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directly engaged with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine and President Vladimir Putin of Russia, conveying that the era should prioritize peace over conflict.
