Maha kumbh: Life History of Harishchandra Vishwakarma

In the Maha Kumbh Mela held at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh most eye-catching was Chabhi wale Baba, Harishchandra Vishwakarma who bear key of 20 kg. He calls this key the “Ram Naam ki Chabhi” . Sri Harishchandra hails from Rae Bareli and he has reached Prayagraj only to be a part of this colorful event. He said that while he was 16, he decided that it was necessary to struggle with evils as well as hatred in society. Going out of his home, he endured so many barriers in the dissemination of his gospel of peace and spirituality.

Maha Kumbh : Spreading Spirituality

It is noteworthy that believing in the power of the key is dear to Harishchandra as the latter thinks that the key symbolizes something that can solve all difficulties. He said, “Ram is the Mukti daata,” meaning Ram is that person who is free. In fact, he utilizes the key to get into the people’s ego and help them to rise to the spiritual realm. He added that he created the key in Ayodhya especially at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk. He inspires people, ‘One day, One hour, One thing with me and your life will be changed.’

Preparations for Maha Kumbh

Anathema to Sandhyā, another man, Gangapuri Maharaj, a.k.a. Chhotu Baba also became famous for refusing to take a bath for 32 years like Harishchandra. He is from the Kamakhya Peeth of Assam. Prayagraj is bustling with preparations for the Mahakumbh, where millions of devotees come to take a holy dip at the Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Sarasvati rivers meet.

Other seers and sages of Niranjani Akhara reached Sangam Ghat which was welcomed by officials with flower garnet. The Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police, Prashant Kumar, took stock of the law and order arrangements at Sangam Ghat for the devotees. He said that CCTV cameras are installed in all areas and there will be foot soldiers to keep peace during the event.
