New Train Connectivity: A Game Changer for Kashmir

Faiz Bakshi, the general secretary of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), expressed excitement about the soon-to-be-launched Delhi-Srinagar new train service. He described it as a “dream come true” for the people of Kashmir. Faiz Bakshi explained that this new rail link will greatly benefit various groups, including businesses, tourists, students, and patients seeking specialized treatment outside Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). He said that with the 13-hour flight between Srinagar and Delhi, the idea of travelling will be turnaround for the individuals.

Faiz Bakshi emphasized that the railway line will be a “boon” for traders and exporters, allowing for quicker transportation of goods and horticultural produce from Kashmir.
