PM Modi Declares August 23 As ‘National Space Day’ To Honor Chandrayaan-3 Success

In a momentous announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi proclaimed August 23 as the ‘National Space Day,’ commemorating the remarkable achievement of Chandrayaan-3‘s lunar landing. Furthermore, he bestowed the title ‘Shiv Shakti’ upon the location where the Vikram lander gently touched the lunar surface.

The Prime Minister admired the dedicated scientists at the ISRO Telemetry Tracking & Command Network Mission Control Complex in Bengaluru, lauding their triumph in Chandrayaan-3’s lunar endeavour.

During his visit to Bengaluru, PM Modi exalted the accomplishment, stating, “The site where Chandrayaan-3’s lunar module made its touchdown will forever be recognized as ‘Shiv Shakti’.” He proudly asserted, “India’s presence graces the Moon, a testament to our national pride.” Notably, the spot where Chandrayaan-2 left its indelible mark on the lunar terrain in 2019 was christened ‘Tiranga Point,’ symbolizing the Indian tricolour.
