Assam’s Shahjahan Set Up An example In The nursery Business, Earns Turnover of Crores

Shah Jahan Ali, a farmer from Bongaigaon, Assam, has carved a niche in the nursery business. Born into a farming family, Shah Jahan was passionate about doing something big. He was fascinated by the fact that the villagers grew plants from seeds and sold them in the market, which sparked the idea of starting a nursery business on a larger scale. In pursuit of his dream, he left the village and eventually started a small nursery with the help of his cousins. In 2013, they collaborated and started a small nursery with Rs. 10 Lakhs. Today, the business turned out to be worth 20 crores.

The Journey to Success

With his hard work and determination, the small nursery grew into a large business spread over 13 bighas of land in Bongaigaon and 30 bighas in Guwahati. Today, Shah Jahan’s nursery supplies over 500 varieties of plants to the entire Northeast region, and the most demanded plants are betel nut, Kamla lemon, mango, and coconut. Despite the challenges, he did not take any government help and built the business solely through hard work and perseverance.
