Rising Above Physical Limitations: Adeeba Ali

Adeeba Ali, a 19-year-old para-athlete from Nizamuddin Basti, New Delhi, has not only defied her physical limitations but has soared to new heights by clinching gold and silver medals in the 26th National Shooting Championship organized by the Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy, Bhopal.

Embracing Sports After Adversity

Adeeba’s journey into sports began after a life-altering accident that left her with a spinal injury, rendering her unable to use her legs. Undeterred, she sought guidance from coaches Subhash Rana and Rohit Sir, who encouraged her to return to sports.

Overcoming a Tragic Incident

The accident occurred five years ago when Adeeba slipped and fell from the fourth-floor balcony of her house. The impact resulted in a fractured spine, leading to the loss of functionality in her legs.

From District to National Level

Adeeba’s tenacity extends beyond the national level. Before her recent triumph, she participated in District Level, Zonal, para-zonal, North Zone, and Para National competitions. The 26th National Shooting Championship marked her fifth major competition.

Discovering Shooting as a Passion

Following the accident, Adeeba explored various sports suitable for her physical condition. The discovery of Para Games, specifically shooting, gave her a newfound purpose. Over time, she excelled and found solace and fulfillment in the sport.

A Lifelong Commitment

Shooting has become integral to Adeeba’s life, bringing a sense of completeness. Her dedication is evident in her rigorous eight-hour practice sessions. For Adeeba, a day without practice feels incomplete.

Aspirations and Resilience

Adeeba’s plans revolve around continuous improvement. Her determination to work hard daily reflects her commitment to achieving greater heights in her sporting career.

Adeeba Ali Inspiring Others

In delivering a powerful message to those facing challenges, Adeeba emphasizes self-belief. She encourages individuals to maintain faith in themselves, as it forms the foundation for garnering support from others.

Motivational Camps for a New Beginning

Reshma envisions organizing motivational camps to share Adeeba’s story with people facing disabilities. She aims to inspire others by showcasing Adeeba’s accomplishments and guiding them on embracing a new life despite challenges.
