Tejas Fighter Jets In Kashmir: Indian Air Force’s Strategic Move For Valley Flying Expertise

In a strategic move, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has deployed its indigenous Light Combat Aircraft Tejas to the region of Jammu and Kashmir, bordering Pakistan, to gain vital experience in flying through the challenging valleys of the union territory.

Defense officials confirm LCA fleet relocation to forward bases, enabling pilots to conduct extensive flying operations in Jammu and Kashmir’s unique terrain. This equips aircraft with valuable experience in the Northern sector, which is vital for operations against China and Pakistan.

The IAF routinely rotates its aircraft between the union territories of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, providing them with exposure to these regions’ diverse and demanding landscapes. The deployment of Tejas in the challenging terrains of Jammu and Kashmir not only sharpens the skills of IAF pilots but also strengthens India’s preparedness to counter potential threats in the region.
