Nawab’s Kitchen: Moinuddin’s Dream Of An Old-Age Home For The Less Privileged

In a picturesque scene, Khawaja Moinuddin, adorned in a white kurta-pajama and a skullcap, grins as he orchestrates a grand meal amidst lush fields. Contrary to appearances, he’s not a professional chef but a former journalist, the driving force behind Nawab’s Kitchen – a YouTube sensation with a philanthropic twist.

A Social Venture Blossoms

Established five years ago by Moinuddin and his colleagues Srinath Reddy and Bhagat Reddy, Nawab’s Kitchen transcends the conventional cooking show. Originating from their decision to leave prestigious media jobs in 2017, the channel boasts 2.78 million subscribers and 843 videos, each garnering millions of views. The mission is clear: “Food for all orphans.”

A Journalist Turned Culinary Philanthropist

Virality Sparks Change

Moinuddin’s culinary journey began when his videos of cooking for orphans went viral. The overwhelming response led to a dilemma at his workplace, where he was asked to choose between his job and his altruistic pursuits. In a defining moment, Moinuddin, along with Bhagat and Srinath, decided to follow their convictions, stepping into the world of culinary philanthropy.

The Culinary Trio

Today, Moinuddin is the face of Nawab’s Kitchen, while Bhagat handles pre-production and Srinath manages sponsorships. With a team of 12, their venture has evolved into a full-fledged operation.

A Noble Cause Nurtured

Culinary Genesis

Moinuddin’s culinary passion ignited when he cooked biryani for his wife, setting the stage for Nawab’s Kitchen. The motivation shifted from personal joy to a broader mission – feeding children in need.

Sacrifice for a Greater Purpose

Despite facing a career crossroads, Moinuddin’s dedication to the cause was unwavering. His wife, Nahida Begum, played a pivotal role, encouraging him to pursue the noble task of feeding underprivileged children.

Culinary Feasts and Philanthropy

Transforming Lives, One Meal at a Time

Driven by a deep-rooted empathy for the less fortunate, Moinuddin and his team create sumptuous feasts for orphanages in Hyderabad. What began as a novel idea of open-field cooking and serving children evolved into a viral sensation.

Monetizing Goodness

As the videos gained blockbuster viewership, Nawab’s Kitchen monetized the content, generating revenue to fund meals that now cost at least Rs 25,000 per preparation.
