Anisa Bilal: Empowering Women through Wild Valley Foods

Anisa Bilal, a retired teacher from Kashmir, embarked on an entrepreneurial journey after her 32-year teaching career. Determined to stay active and contribute to society, she created a page on social media called Wild Valley Foods, through which she sells a variety of dry fruits and organic products from Kashmir. Today, her products have a loyal customer base in India and reach buyers abroad.

Promoting Kashmiri Organic Products and Supporting Local Farmers

Anisa’s passion lies in promoting Kashmir’s organic and locally grown products. She directly sources almonds, walnuts, honey, saffron, pulses, and dried vegetables from farmers, paying them a fair price higher than the market rate. By doing so, she ensures the quality and authenticity of her products and provides employment opportunities to the local community.

Anisa personally visits the farmers to procure the best-quality produce. She emphasizes the importance of obtaining 100% pure honey, saffron, walnuts, and almonds, ensuring that her customers receive the finest products Kashmir has to offer.

A Commitment to Quality and Hygiene

At Wild Valley Foods, Anisa takes great pride in her preparation methods and maintains the highest hygiene standards. During summer, she meticulously cleans and dries various vegetables, tomatoes, and rose petals. Once dried to perfection, she carefully packages them for sale.

In addition to dried vegetables, Anisa’s product range includes pure Kashmiri honey, dried rose petals, saffron, walnuts, black raisins, almond oil, and khubani oil (apricot oil). Her commitment to quality and attention to detail ensures that her customers receive products that are delicious and safe for consumption.

Promoting Healthy Eating and Women’s Empowerment

Anisa’s mission goes beyond running a successful business. She is deeply concerned about the health of the younger generation and advocates for the numerous benefits of incorporating dry fruits into their diets. Through her interviews and interactions, she educates people on the importance of consuming these nutrient-rich foods instead of unhealthy junk alternatives.

Anisa believes that dry fruits from Kashmir can contribute to the overall well-being of the youth, enhancing their alertness, mental acuity, and ability to study and work hard. Her passion for promoting healthy eating habits stems from her desire to see the younger generation thrive.

Furthermore, Anisa strongly advocates for women’s empowerment and financial independence. After her retirement, she refused to remain idle and pursued her entrepreneurial dream. Today, she encourages other women, sisters, and daughters to engage in similar endeavours, as she believes that such work can improve mental health and alleviate feelings of depression or boredom.

Looking Towards the Future

Anisa’s journey with Wild Valley Foods is far from over. She constantly explores and researches new products from Kashmir that can benefit her customers. She aims to expand her business and introduce more unique and health-promoting items.

Through her unwavering determination and commitment to quality, Anisa Bilal has not only carved a successful path for herself. Still, she has also inspired women entrepreneurs and advocates of healthy living. Her story serves as a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and a desire to impact society positively.
