An initiative by Dr. Rubul Ahmed to help people in need in Assam

Every Thursday, Dr. Rubul Ahmed holds free health camps at the Assam Medicine Centre, a private pharmacy located in Dhantula Bazar, Bongaigaon.

Medical costs are going through the roof, but Dr. Rubul Ahmed from Bongaigaon district in Assam has become a light of hope for many poor patients. Every Thursday, he holds free health camps at the Assam Medicine Centre, a private pharmacy located in Dhantula Bazar, Bongaigaon. With the help of the nonprofit organization “Drishti,” Dr. Ahmed helps between 50 and 80 patients every week by giving them basic medical care. This is a lifesaver for people who can not afford expensive treatments.

Dr. Rubul Ahmed’s Personal Story of Getting Strong

Personal events played a big role in Dr. Ahmed’s path to becoming a doctor. His love and support from his community as a child in a poor part of Bongaigaon gave him strength. His mother worked hard to make sure he got an education after losing his father when he was young. Until he got into medical school, they lived in a house without power. Because of this, he has a deep knowledge of the problems poor people face, which drives him to give back to his community.

Dr. Rubul Ahmed’s Commitment to Service Over Profit

After getting his MBBS from Gauhati Medical College in 2014, Dr. Ahmed worked as the Chief Emergency Medical Officer at Nemcare Hospital in Guwahati. He then moved on to work for the National Health Mission in a state hospital in Dhubri district. In January 2021, he joined Bongaigaon Civil Hospital. Dr. Rubul Ahmed thinks that the pursuit of money should not overshadow the responsibility to serve others. He emphasizes that the money saved from his free consultations allows patients to buy required medications. If someone is in a real financial bind, he is happy to pay for their medicines himself. Dr. Ahmed’s devotion to his patients exemplifies a commitment to healthcare that prioritizes compassion and community welfare over financial gain.
