Anjum Barabankvi’s Tribute to Lord Ram

Dr. Anjum Barabankvi, a well-known Urdu poet and writer, was pleasantly surprised when Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised his eulogy on Lord Ram. Barabankvi a Muslim resident of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh communicated his happiness to the Prime Minister after receiving his written correspondence. The author created a Ram-ghazal that presents Lord Shri Ram with a perfect depiction of his character to show India’s deep religious heritage.

A New Perspective on Ram

Anjum Barabankvi’s ghazal has created excitement in the literary community. At present he works on gathering fifty ghazals that he will provide directly to Prime Minister Modi. Barabankvi receives great honor when Prime Minister Modi acknowledges his dedication through his kind words. Barabankvi maintains that his poetry obtains value for both literary scholars and cultural and religious believers.

The author Barabankvi explained the reason behind writing his ghazal by suggesting that more poetry should depict Ram’s character more fully. The poet stressed that Ram plays an indispensable role in Indian culture and religion. Barabankvi finds pride in becoming the inaugural writer to dedicate a ghazal to Shri Ram although many poets have already focused on his works.

A Personal Connection to His Work

Since the beginning of the previous year Anjum has published ten ghazals dedicated to Shri Ram as he plans to finish fifty more by November 2025. The author wants to submit his complete collection to the Prime Minister before November 2025. According to Barabankvi the character of Ram functions as an inspiration for all people because of how he serves as brother, husband, and son to others. At the same time he expresses deep devotion to his Prophet in writing Barabankvi demonstrates the same respectful and faithful approach to his literary work about Ram because religion does not restrict his creative process.
