The 721st Urs of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya began in Delhi, with PM Modi praising Sufi teachings that promote unity, peace, and harmony among diverse communities.

The five-day celebrations for the 721st annual Urs of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, a highly respected Sufi saint, started at his mausoleum in Delhi on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a special message highlighting the important legacy of Sufi saints. He praised Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya for his teachings that promote unity, peace, and brotherhood among people. Modi described the Urs as a wonderful opportunity for followers to reflect on the life and teachings of Hazrat Nizamuddin. The Urs is held every year to mark the death anniversary of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya. It is a time for his followers to honour his teachings and pay tribute to him. Thousands of devotees from across the country visit his dargah during this event. The celebrations include various religious programs, such as Hamd, Naat, and Qawwali performances. Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, born in 1238 in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, was a key figure in the Chishti sect, promoting love and respect among all religions.
