Minimally Invasive Vibrating Capsule Unveils Neural Responses in Gastrointestinal Stimulation

A groundbreaking study employed a minimally invasive vibrating capsule, developed by Vibrant Ltd, to measure neural responses during gastrointestinal stimulation. This innovative method offers a fresh perspective on unraveling the intricate connection between the gut and the nervous system.

The study enlisted healthy adult male and female volunteers, aged 18 to 40, who detected the stimulation of the vibrating capsule under two conditions: normal and enhanced. Remarkably, the enhanced stimulation condition yielded improved perceptual accuracy, faster detection of stimulation, and reduced variability in reaction time.

This discovery opens doors for further exploration in diverse clinical populations, making it a significant leap forward in gut feeling research.
