Women’s Premier League | A monumental occasion for Indian cricket was on the cards as the auction for the first-ever Women’s Premier League (WPL) was held successfully in Mumbai on February 13, 2022, with as many as 87 players being sold to the five different franchises, and many players getting a lot of money, some well above their base price. However, amongs all the money being spent, the story of the day was perhaps the acquisition of Jasia Akhtar by the Delhi Capitals.

Akhtar became the first and only cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir to secure a women’s IPL contract as the Capitals snapped her up for a price of Rs 20 lakh in the auction, at her base price. For details story, visit: timesnownews.com
