International Conference on World Peace Unites Religious Leaders and Scholars in Ladakh

An international conference on world peace convened at the Acharya Nagarjuna Auditorium CIBS in Leh, Ladakh, witnessing the participation of religious leaders and eminent scholars from various faiths worldwide. With nearly 2500 attendees, including the Convenor of the Indian Minorities Foundation (IMF) and Chancellor of Chandigarh University, Satnam Singh Sandhu, the event aimed to address global challenges through Buddhist philosophy and thought.

Representatives from seven countries, including Thailand, Nepal, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and the USA, joined Buddhist monks and devotees in meaningful deliberations. The conference culminated in the signing the ten-point Ladakh Peace Declaration, advocating non-violence, peace dedication, interfaith harmony, regional cooperation, and calling for a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.

Organized by the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), Ladakh, the conference followed a massive peace walk involving monks, religious leaders, and students promoting global peace. The event’s collective efforts underscored the commitment of diverse communities to strive for peace and stability worldwide.
