Afghan Widow Builds New Life and Business in India

Afghan Woman Builds New Life in India: Nasima Nawabi, a 66-year-old widow, left her home in Kabul 12 years ago to start a new life in India with her eight children. Despite the challenges of adjusting to a new country, the family has embraced Indian culture and made many friends.

Nasima runs a home-food outlet called “Ilham Kitchen” in South Delhi, which supports her and her six children. Her youngest son even shares Afghan tiffin with his Indian schoolmates. Despite the difficulties, Nasima and her family have found a sense of belonging in India.
