Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa: Promoting Religious Leaders’ Role in Countering Extremism and Violence

Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, the Secretary-General of the Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL), commences his inaugural six-day journey to India today. Emphasizing the societal responsibilities of religious leaders, he highlights the need to confront hate speech, religious extremism, and violence that breed terrorism.

During the Responsible Leaders Summit at the UN in New York, in May 2019, Dr. Issa underscored the duty of religious leaders in combating terrorism and strengthening the intellectual resilience of all, particularly the youth, through their spiritual influence.

His speeches at the conference garnered substantial coverage in Saudi media, where he emphasized that extreme religious and terrorist ideologies stem from religious individuals who choose radical paths, rather than military force.

Alongside meetings with notable figures like Dr. S Jaishankar, Smriti Irani, and NSA Ajit Doval, Dr. Issa will deliver a speech to a gathering of intellectuals and academicians hosted by the Khusro Foundation on July 11.
