India Celebrates 100 Years at Olympics with Paris Exhibition

Indian Ambassador to France, Jawed Ashraf, recently opened an exhibition called “100 Years of India at Olympics” in Paris. He was joined by France’s Culture Minister Rachida Dati and International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach. The event was sponsored by JSW Sports, an Indian company. Ambassador Ashraf mentioned that he talked about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on developing sports in India.

JSW Sports’ Olympic Vision

Parth Jindal, who started the Inspire Institute of Sport, spoke at the event. He said their goal is to support the Olympic movement in India and worldwide. Jindal also expressed pride in partnering with the descendants of Pierre de Coubertin, who helped restart the modern Olympics in 1896. JSW Sports is helping many Indian athletes prepare for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

India’s Olympic Hopes and Achievements

India aims to beat its best Olympic performance from Tokyo 2020, where it won seven medals, including one gold. For the Paralympics, the target is to surpass the 19 medals won in Tokyo. So far, India has secured six spots in boxing for Paris 2024. These include well-known boxers like Nikhat Zareen, Lovlina Borgohain, and Amit Panghal.

Three of these spots were won during the Asian Games in Hangzhou last year, while the other three were secured at the World Qualifiers in June. The Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.

This exhibition and India’s preparations show the country’s growing focus on sports. It highlights how far India has come in the Olympics over the past century and its ambitions for the future. With increased support and attention, India hopes to make a strong showing at the Paris Olympics and continue improving its performance in international sports.
