Indian Women Shine at 19th Asian Games: Gold in 25m Pistol and Silver in 50m Rifle 3-Position

In a display of exceptional skill and determination, Indian women shooters secured top honors at the 19th Asian Games, making the nation proud with their remarkable performances. The 25m pistol team, consisting of Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh, and Rhythm Sangwan, clinched the gold medal, while the 50m rifle 3-position women’s team, comprised of Sift Kaur Samra, Ashi Chouksey, and Manini Kaushik, secured a well-deserved silver.

In the intensely competitive 25m pistol team event, the Indian trio demonstrated their prowess by amassing a total score of 1759 points after the precision and rapid rounds. Their exceptional performance outshone the competition, as they outperformed formidable opponents from China and the Republic of Korea, ultimately ascending to the highest step of the podium to claim the coveted gold medal.

The victory in the 25m pistol team event was a testament to the unwavering dedication and teamwork of Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh, and Rhythm Sangwan. Their flawless execution in a high-pressure environment showcased their commitment to excellence in the field of shooting sports.

Meanwhile, in the 50m rifle team event, India continued to shine as the team of Sift Kaur Samra, Ashi Chouksey, and Manini Kaushik delivered an outstanding performance. They secured the silver medal with a commendable score of 1764 points in the final at the Asian Games 2023. China claimed the gold, while the Republic of Korea settled for the bronze.

Prior to the team’s success, Sift Kaur Samra also made her mark in the individual qualification round, finishing with an impressive total of 594 points, earning her second place. Ashi Chouksey’s exceptional performance in the same round, where she finished in sixth place, secured her a spot in the women’s 50m rifle 3-position final.
