Narendra Modi Congratulates Waheeda Rehman on Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award

In a heartwarming gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his delight at the announcement of veteran actress Waheeda Rehman being honored with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award. He took to social media to convey his appreciation for her remarkable journey in Indian cinema and her enduring impact on the industry.

“Delighted that Waheeda Rehman Ji has been honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award. Her journey in Indian cinema has left an indelible mark. A beacon of talent, dedication, and grace, she embodies the best of our cinematic heritage. Congratulations to her,” Prime Minister Modi posted on X.

The Prime Minister’s message came after Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur announced the actress’s prestigious recognition earlier. “Announcing Waheeda Rehman ji for Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award this year,” Thakur said with delight.

Thakur spotlighted Waheeda Rehman’s lifetime award, praising her in the context of Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, acknowledging her cinema and philanthropy.

Thakur noted the announcement’s connection to Dev Anand’s 100th birthday, paying tribute to their iconic “Guide” collaboration.

Waheeda Rehman’s contribution to Indian cinema is indeed timeless, and the Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award is a well-deserved recognition of her outstanding career and enduring legacy in the world of entertainment.
