Kiren Rijiju’s Spiritual Journey in Saudi Arabia

Kiren Rijiju, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, recently visited Madhina to oversee arrangements for Indian pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia for hajj. He said it was “humbling and spiritual” to be in this holy city today with some of the oldest and most sacred mosques. While Rijiju personally is a Buddhist, he gave a very heartfelt appreciation for the importance of the Hajj for Muslims at large.

Signing the Hajj Agreement

Currently in Saudi Arabia, Rijiju signed an important agreement for the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage. India occupies the second place in the number of pilgrims who visit this event. He has signed a bilateral agreement regarding hajj pilgrimage for the year 2025 with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, H.E Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah. In this regard, 1,75,025 quotas have been established for India through which a large number of people can perform this journey.

Market the Hajj & Umrah Conference

Rijiju also witnessed the inaugural session of the 4th edition of the Hajj & Umrah Conference and Exhibition in Jeddah where his ministry was organised by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj & Umrah. This annual international conference aims to provide the primary stakeholders, professionals, and scholars in the Hajj and Umrah services business. It offers a space for conversation, training, and dissemination of good practices where attendees can inform themselves and provide and receive relevant information about the pilgrimage.

Rijiju’s visit highlights the importance of Hajj for Indian Muslims and signifies the strong ties between India and Saudi Arabia. The preparation expected for the next journey is intended to make the spiritual trip profitable to the pilgrims. His thoughts regarding the spiritual ambiance of Madhina and the importance of haj, proves that many Indians have a great deal of respect and necessary concern to help in performing this required pilgrimage. : In this way and through such programmes there is constantly developing the spirit of friendship and cooperation between nations and people from different countries start to recognize each other within cultures.
