Surpassing Previous Records: A Surge in Muslim Success

This year’s accomplishment of 54 successful Muslim candidates surpasses the cumulative total of 68 individuals who entered coveted civil services from 2013 to 2018. The surge reflects a positive trend in the minority community’s representation within Assam’s administrative landscape.

Rashika Islam: A Beacon of Success

Hailing from Matiabag, Gauripur, in Dhubri district, Rashika Islam, daughter of Colonel (Retd) Saidul Islam and Raihana Islam, emerged as the top performer in the CCE. Her achievement not only brings pride to Gauripur but also resonates across the entire Dhubri district.

Overcoming Challenges: Rashika’s Journey to Success

Expressing her elation, Rashika shared her journey, emphasizing her determination to improve her CCE ranking. Despite holding the position of a Tax Inspector in Dhubri district, Rashika dedicated four to five hours daily to prepare for the challenging exam. When asked about study tips, Rashika emphasized the importance of hard work, stating that there are no shortcuts to success. Her supportive husband, also a bureaucrat with the Assam Government, played a crucial role in her success.

Diverse Education Background: Rashika’s Journey Through Army Schools

Due to her father’s pan-India job, Rashika received her education in various army schools across the country, including the prestigious Army Public School, Narengi, Guwahati.

Diverse Roles: Muslim Candidates in Assam Civil Services

Apart from Rashika, 53 other Muslim candidates successfully cracked the APSC exam, securing positions in civil, police, and allied services of the Assam government. Notable among them are Wahiduz Zaman, Zamanur Islam, Asfaq Laskar, Benazir Ilyas, Abu Saeed Mohammad, Golzar Hussain, and Affan Khan, selected for the Assam Civil Service.
