“Asghar Ali, a famous painter from Delhi, believes that art is not just what people see; it is what the artist wants them to see.” He has painted about more than fifty scenes of Lord Krishna’s life, from his childhood to young age or the scenes from the Mahabharata. It rises from Asghar when he urges that beauty of a painting is in the details, and this is something he endeavors to bring to practice.

Asghar also showcased some of his creations inspired by Krishna at the recently concluded International Geeta Mahotsav being held in Kurukshetra, Haryana. Lots of people appreciated his work there. His biggest work to his credit is a painting which he painted in 10000 sq ft canvas for the foundation laying ceremony of Lord Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. This painting is now reputed to be the world’s largest, having been presented to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Asghar said that art does not have borders and she wants to inspire the society while establishing unity in society.
Helping Others Get Inspired Through Workshops
Asghar Ali founded the Kalabhumi Institute of Fine Arts in Dwarka, Delhi, after earning a Fine Arts degree from Jamia Millia Islamia. Originally from Shahbad Mohammadpur village, he learnt about various religious scriptures while in college which he said aided him in developing the skills. From him he learned the depth of Lord Krishna’s life by Ram Babu. Asghar has also done Ganesha, Gautam Buddha and nature.
As for better understanding of Lord Krishna, he visited Mathura, Vrindavan and the place near the river Yamuna. One of his favourite paintings was of a Gopi who had received a thorn in the foot and who was staring at Krishna who had followed her behind a tree and was smiling at her. In a recent event, Atul contacted prisoners in the Tihar Gaol and arranged a workshop then he understood that all the prisoners involved in the art gallery wanted to continue with that after coming out from the gaol.
