Unlocking the Power of Millets: Dr. Khadar Valli D’s Revolutionary Insights

In the heart of India, Dr. Khadar Valli D, known as the Millet Man, unveils a grim reality: the food sector is under the tight grip of big businesses. These entities dictate what farmers grow and manipulate the public into consuming what’s profitable. The consequences are dire, with farmers losing touch with traditional wisdom and being coerced into abandoning local and community foods. Dr. Valli warns that this shift poses the greatest danger to humanity.

Insights from Mega Millet Mahotsav

Recently, at the ‘Mega Millet Mahotsav’ organized by the Ministry of Culture, IGNCA, Ministry of Agriculture, and Gandhi Darshan in the capital, Dr. Valli shared his perspective. With his daughter, Dr. Sarla Valli, by his side, he shed light on how millets could cure incurable diseases. From diabetes to hypertension, and even Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, millets emerge as a natural remedy.

Questioning Conventional Revolutions

“Why is Dr. Valli against the Green Revolution, the White Revolution, and the Pink Revolution?” I asked him. His response is a stark indictment of these revolutions, as he asserts that they have compromised the health of the commoner and the land. Dr Valli argues that pursuing more production and food security has led to severe health and environmental repercussions.

Green Revolution’s Fallout

During the Green Revolution, the country witnessed an abundance of wheat and rice production. However, these were not the staple foods of India. Indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers for maximum yield has enriched companies but plunged our health and environment into crisis.

White Revolution’s Impact

The milk extraction worldwide during the White Revolution, achieved by administering steroids to animals, resulted in numerous diseases. Dr. Valli narrates shocking incidents, like a five-year-old girl in America experiencing premature menstruation, challenging the natural order.

Questioning the Pink Revolution

As the world contemplates the Pink Revolution, promoting meat consumption, Dr. Valli emphasizes that eating meat is not intrinsic to human nature. He criticizes the deceptive advertisements advocating egg consumption for better health, highlighting the potential liver problems associated with this dietary choice.
